"A complete disappointment": In Yakutsk, the chairman of the Public Chamber resigned due to the impossibility of restoring historic buildings.

Andrey Vysokikh stated that officials are now more interested in winning the upcoming elections than in their historical appearance Yakutsk. He submitted his resignation letter to the mayor of the city - his answer Evgeny Grigoryev I haven't given it yet.

"I'm completely disappointed with the actual work of preparing the city for its 400th anniversary, and specifically with the inability to restore historic buildings, which was my main focus when joining the Public Chamber," says Vysokikh.

According to him, the mayor's office does not want to restore the Trinity Cathedral, the Voivode's Office, the Yaroslavsky Museum, the Real School, the Shergin Mine, and the Zalog territory.

Vysokikh is known as a social activist who actively promotes the preservation of Yakutsk's historical and cultural heritage. He worked in the construction industry for over 50 years and participated in the construction of the first nine-story building on permafrost. He promotes public awareness of historical monuments and engages residents in their preservation.

Vysokikh became head of the Public Chamber in the fall of 2025. At the time, the mayor praised him for his fight against mismanagement:

"Andrei Anatolyevich has long been known for his intolerance of the sloppiness and mismanagement that unfortunately plague our city."
