A museum of window frames collected from across the region has opened near Vladimir.
"Accessible Museum. A Cult Parcel" opened in Lakinsk, near the M-7 "Volga" federal highway. It contains dozens of antique window frames with patterns characteristic of different areas of the region. All of them are handcrafted.
This is an open-air museum where window frames are mounted on stands resembling the walls of old huts. Most of the exhibits were donated by local residents. Among them is a stand with new carvings—completely recreated from ancient examples.
"The platband is a story about the universe, the structure of the world, yes. Here we can see celestial bodies, solar symbols, and all sorts of animal images that demonstrate the Russian people's love of agriculture," said Olga, at the opening, the director of the museum of window frames Sofia Chernova.
