In Taganrog Bay, an oil slick has spread almost 3 km from the shore.

According to satellite imagery from Planet, the oil slick has spread nearly 3 km south of the coast near the Taganrog seaport, reports the Sky Eye monitoring project.

Consequences of drone attacks and complaints from residents

On July 10, a drone attack in Taganrog resulted in a fire at a port terminal where ships were carrying oil products. Residents later reported oil rain, black spots of oil on cars, and a rainbow-colored film on puddles. Local social media users posted photos of clumps of fuel oil on the shore. The neighboring town of Azov was blanketed in smoke.

The official position of the regional authorities

The next day, Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that the ships had suffered "minor damage" and that there was "no threat of a spill."
