"Football is killing the brain": pro-government publication Shot reports that 2026 World Cup broadcasts have surpassed propaganda in ratings

According to a post on the Telegram channel "Shot," "football kills the brain," "increases the risk of depression," and can lead to "a serious, incurable disease."

Edition refers for research conducted by scientists during the FIFA World Cup, currently underway in North America. Details of the study are only available on the Max messenger app.

"Max is brain-dead," one of the "Shot" subscribers jokes in the comments.

The post about the dangers of football appeared an hour and a half after the "We Can Explain" project published the results of its latest ratings. They show that broadcasts of the 2026 World Cup matches ousted from the television top the main propaganda and entertainment shows of the country (including "Vesti Nedeli" with Dmitry Kiselev).
