A member of the SVO who killed animators in Kuban received a life sentence.
Court of Fontaine posted Demyan Kevorkian to a special regime penal colony and stripped of his Medal for Courage. His accomplices Aram Tatosyan и Anatoly Dvoynikov received sentences of 23 and 25 years in a maximum security penal colony.
The convicted persons were also ordered to pay almost 30 million rubles in compensation for moral damages and material losses to the victims.
Back in 2016, Demyan Kevorkyan received an 18-year prison sentence for theft, robbery, banditry, and illegal possession of weapons. However, after the war with Ukraine began, he agreed to serve in the Wagner PMC and was released.
In April 2023, he and two accomplices attacked on two animators who were returning from work and got a flat tire on the M-4 "Don" highway. 37-year-old Kirill Chubko and 19-year-old Tatyana Mostyko They killed him, taking cash, bank cards and jewelry.
This was one of the first high-profile murders involving a SVO veteran. News of the investigation generated considerable public outcry. Moreover, in today's reports from state media, in particular TASS, no mention of Kevorkian's participation in the war.
During a break between sessions, Kevorkian said, that he became a victim of accomplices' slander and is innocent of the murder.
“I have not killed a single peaceful person here,” he said. — I shed blood there [in the war], I carried out tasks.”
