Dog trekking—an active holiday with your dogs—is gaining popularity. in the Vladimir regionA group of owners and their pets under the leadership Lyudmila Komarovskaya I've already been on several trips, and recently the whole company went SUPing along the Kamenka River. in Suzdal.
Komarovskaya's dog-traveling project began five years ago, and she says it was no accident: when a family has a pet, they don't want to be separated from them, even for a vacation. Her family's pets, Chris and Harvey, inspire her to explore new routes.
"This year's new program is three days in Suzdal. On the first evening, we meet and get to know each other, and in the morning, after some group exercise, we go for a walk around the city, with our pets, of course. We admire the local sights and take photos." said Olga, Komarovskaya to journalists.
The main adventure in Suzdal was paddleboarding with pets. It was conducted with all safety precautions in place, including mandatory instruction on water safety and the use of life jackets.
The swim was so exciting that the participants were the envy of onlookers.
"We happened to witness a dog paddleboarding trip. I think it's really fun to paddle with your faithful friend. We'll definitely try it with our pet; we'll just have to buy a life jacket," Alisa, a resident of the Suzdal region, was inspired.
According to the organizer, it's important to assemble a dog trekking team that doesn't include aggressive animals. And non-aggressive animals will certainly become friends during the next expedition.
Dog trekking emerged in the second half of the last century in Northern Europe and North America, where sled dogs were historically used for transportation. Gradually, dog trekking began to develop as a distinct activity, as riding a dog and carrying a dog are two different things.
