An industrial zone in Ufa is burning after a drone attack, with fuel and energy companies under attack.

An industrial zone in Ufa has caught fire following another massive drone attack on Bashkortostan enterprises. Residents are reporting explosions, a strong smell of burning, and thick smoke rising from the oil refineries.

The authorities' response and the consequences for the airport

Radiy Khabirov, the head of Bashkortostan, officially announced a massive attack on regional enterprises. According to him, air defense forces shot down at least 25 drones, and no one was injured in the incident.

However, Ufa residents continue to complain en masse about the sounds of explosions in various parts of the city. Specifically, residents have reported a strong burning smell and distinct smoke near industrial facilities. Furthermore, due to flight restrictions imposed at Ufa Airport, both departing and arriving flights have been delayed.

Fires at the Novoil and Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim plants

According to the regional publication "Aspects of Bashkortostan," a strong smoke outbreak has appeared in the area of the Ufa Novoil oil refinery.

Therefore, this isn't the first such strike in recent times—the day before, Ufa was also attacked by drones. For example, an OSINT analyst for the Astra publication previously noted that two columns of black smoke rose above another facility in the complex—the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery.
