"The master arrived and brought gasoline for the day": Vladimir Putin arrived in Krasnoyarsk
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Krasnoyarsk on a working visit, state media reported. Specifically, the head of state attended the closing ceremony of the All-Russian competition for children and teenagers, "Big Change," organized by the "Movement of the First" project. Putin took the stage to the acclaim of the participants, kicking a soccer ball as the audience chanted his name.
The reaction of Krasnoyarsk residents and the appearance of gasoline
At the same time, Krasnoyarsk residents themselves reacted to the president's visit with much more restraint, expressing their opinions on social media:
The master has arrived
And he brought gasoline with him for the day.
You can't breathe the same air as him here, you mustn't leave the house, close the windows and doors
It's worth noting that a week and a half ago, residents of Irkutsk experienced similar luck when Putin visited the local aircraft plant, and residents were subsequently able to refuel without the previous restrictions.
Putin's plans to visit Krasnoyarsk had been circulating for about a week, and before his visit, the city's fuel shortages suddenly disappeared. Furthermore, as journalist Dmitry Polushin reported, at KNP gas stations, where gasoline was only available with coupons the day before, AI-92 suddenly became available for 63 rubles and AI-95 for 67 rubles. Rosneft and Lukoil stations began selling fuel without queues.
Blockades, increased security, and a motorcade
At the same time, local Telegram channels reported a significant increase in security measures in the city. In particular, the Krasnews outlet reported on security agency inspections:
Security measures are currently being stepped up along the motorcade's route: homes of firearm owners are being visited, guns and the number of rounds are being inventoried.
By evening, Krasnoyarsk Telegram channels began publishing videos of the government motorcade leaving the airport. Meanwhile, city streets were temporarily closed to traffic, and some mobile operators reported unstable internet service in central Krasnoyarsk.
Consequently, a large official delegation arrived from Moscow with the president—members of the Russian government are gathering at the Siberian Federal University.
