The Krasnoyarsk metro is 33% complete: Putin expressed hope that it will be launched "in our time."

Governor Krasnoyarsk the edges Michael Kotyukov сообщил To Vladimir Putin During his visit, he said that the Krasnoyarsk metro was 33% complete and stated that more had been done in three years than in the last 30 years.

While Putin had previously promised to complete the metro during his visits to Krasnoyarsk, he now merely hoped that it would be launched "in our time." According to Putin, the funds for it are available:

«"The money is there. But the question is how the cost will be determined by the contractors, the regulatory agencies, and the state expert review."

The Krasnoyarsk metro is one of the city's most protracted construction projects. Construction began in the 90s, but the project was subsequently shelved. Meanwhile, millions of rubles from the budget were allocated annually to maintain the existing tunnels.

Despite the governor's optimistic reports, its commissioning has been repeatedly delayed. The construction deadline is February 2026. extended until 2028, although it was initially promised that it would be ready in 2026. At that time, this was attributed to the state expert review taking too long.

Metro construction workers also periodically complain about delays in wages. Last December, for example, dump truck drivers staged a protest outside the regional government, demanding payment of the promised money.
