"Houston, we have a problem": Roscosmos's main research center, which oversees the ISS and spacecraft, is on fire in the Moscow region.

A column of black smoke rises over the territory of the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering in the city Queen.

According to TASS, the fire may be "man-made." However, on the eve of the fire, Rosaviatsiya limited the operation of Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports (usually this occurs due to drone attacks).

There are no official reports yet regarding the cause of the fire or its scale. However, it is known that fire crews from the Moscow region who arrived at the scene have already requested assistance from their Moscow counterparts.

TsNIIMash is the leading scientific organization of Roscosmos. It includes the renowned Mission Control Center, which is responsible for the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS, as well as the launches of transport and cargo spacecraft.
