Another defendant in the "LGBT literature sale case" received a suspended sentence.

Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow appointed Popcorn Books editorial director receives 4-year suspended sentence To Dmitry Protopopov.

He was found guilty of selling the remaining "banned" books in Russia after the "LGBT movement" was banned. Investigators say they distributed over 900 books that "promote LGBT ideology."

As the defense noted, one of the underage buyers was involved in a "test purchase" operation. After ordering 40 books, she sold them through Avito to law enforcement officers.

Protopopov reportedly admitted his guilt and testified "about the roles of other participants." The case was heard under a special procedure. Along with a suspended sentence, the court ordered the confiscation of over 8,7 million rubles as "criminal proceeds." 

Previously, two other defendants in this criminal case were the sales director Pavel Ivanov and the warehouse manager Artem Vakhlyaev — also admitted their guilt and got 4 years probation.
