The Ministry of Justice has updated its register of foreign agents.
The registry had not been updated for four weeks—apparently, the employees responsible for it were on vacation.
Today the register includes:
🔸Vsevolod Bederson - political scientist;
🔸Alexander Litreev - information security specialist;
🔸Natalya Kiseleva - journalist;
🔸Igor Sadreev — journalist, former editor-in-chief of “The Village” (2011–2014) and the Russian version of “Esquire” (2014–2016);
🔸Miloslav Chemodanov — journalist, former editor-in-chief of The Village and Kinopoisk;
🔸Mediazona publication;
🔸The "First Flight" project.
Also excluded from the register due to liquidation Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty LLC и Press Freedom Foundation.
UPD
Journalist for Mediazona Egor Skovoroda He said that the publication had been recognized as a foreign agent for the second time.
The first time this happened was in 2021, when the resource's founder, ZP LLC, was added to the register.
“Then a funny thing happened,” пишет Pan. "One department of the Ministry of Justice liquidated OOO ZP for some formal violations. After that, their colleagues responsible for 'foreign agents' had to remove us from the register. We quietly chuckled at how our sloppiness (failing to file something on time) had helped us, but we didn't really publicize it. We lived without a foreign agency for two years! And now, apparently, they've finally gotten around to it."
He also clarified that before the second "foreign agency" attack, the publication had cut off all donations from Russia, causing it to lose more than 1500 donors in one day.
