Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein, for his part, did not announce any material or sweet gifts for the soldiers. However, the regional head wrote a detailed post stating that the volunteers "prevented something terrible and saved lives."
Details of the night incident
Alexander Khinshtein described the details of the night shift. According to him, the BARS-Kursk mobile task force crew spotted an enemy target around 3:00 a.m. after a missile alert was issued.
Consequently, the FP-5 Flamingo missile was flying at an altitude of less than 50 meters and a speed of up to 500 km/h. As a result, the volunteers opened fire with a machine gun, causing the missile to lose altitude, fall, and detonate in the forest.
