Preparations for the visit affected the city's daily life. Specifically, on the eve of the president's arrival, gasoline unexpectedly became available at local gas stations at the previous prices: starting August 28, dozens of stations once again offered AI-92, AI-95, AI-95+, and diesel fuel.
Additionally, for safety reasons, authorities imposed temporary restrictions on vessel traffic on the Volga and Oka rivers. As a result, residents of Nizhny Novgorod began receiving special SMS notifications warning of the ban on watercraft use.
