Company representatives believe the mass deaths of dogs may have been caused by improper storage conditions of the vaccine. Several batches of the drug, totaling tens of thousands of doses, have already been recalled from the market.

The exact cause of the animals' deaths remains unknown. An official explanation is promised following the investigation, which is expected to be completed in October.

The situation is complicated by the fact that imported vaccines, considered safer by dog and cat owners, cannot be administered in Russia due to sanctions.
