61-year-old writer and blogger Pavel Syutkin detained October 8. A case of "fake news" was opened following denunciations from Z-activists over a post about Bucha. The case materials stated that Syutkin "holds radical political views," disagrees with the current political regime, and wishes to harm the state. Syutkin pleaded not guilty.
Biography of the writer
Syutkin is the author of books on Russian and Soviet cuisine. At various times, he hosted programs on the history of food on national television channels and radio stations. In 2015, he represented Russia at the EXPO Milano International Exhibition.
