All current heads and acting governors win preliminary "elections"
All incumbent regional heads and acting governors have preliminarily won the recent elections. According to the Electoral Commission, all government candidates are leading by a significant margin over their opponents.
Ramzan Kadyrov's record results and regional leaders
The Chechen Republic traditionally shows the highest results. Specifically, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, after 99,63% of ballots were counted, received 99,85% of the vote. He has led the region continuously since 2007.
In addition, among the confidently leading candidates, according to the Central Election Commission, there are also other current leaders:
- Artyom Zdunov - Mordovia;
- Vladislav Khovalyg - Tuva;
- Alexey Russkikh — Ulyanovsk region;
- Oleg Melnichenko — Penza region;
- Vitaly Korolev — Tver region;
- Egor Kovalchuk — Bryansk region;
- Alexander Shuvaev — Belgorod region.
Voter skepticism and reactions on social media
However, some voters on social media are openly skeptical of the officially published figures. For example, Belgorod residents reacted ironically to the news of Alexander Shuvaev's victory in comments on regional news:
We believe, brother, the people's favorite
I don't know a single person who would vote for him.
A Telegram poll will be more honest than these elections.
As a result, elections for regional leaders on the so-called “single voting day” took place in eight constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
