“The country consists of electoral sultanates and few people doubt that Chechnya is also a political sultanate, — the political scientist commented Andy Kolesnikov. “In fact, the entire Russian Federation is moving in this direction.”

The expert believes that the abnormally high figures are aimed at creating the illusion of absolute unity, as Vladimir Putin spoke about in his election address.

The President of the Assembly of Peoples of the Caucasus does not entirely agree with Kolesnikov. Ruslan KutaevHe emphasized that it is difficult to determine the Chechen authorities' specific motives in choosing these figures, as the real logic of the electoral process was absent from the outset.

Both analysts agreed that the participation of alternative candidates in the Chechen presidential election was purely formal. According to the Central Election Commission, Kadyrov's competitors— Ismail Denilkhanov и Khalid Nakaev — allegedly received only 0,05% of the votes.
