Industry reaction to the candidate for Deputy Minister of Digital Development
"Let's call a spade a spade: the deputy minister for information security has long served as an FSB outpost in a civilian agency. Only the shoulder straps change," commented news IT analyst Mikhail Klimarev.
Information security expert Alexey Lukatsky pointed out that approaches effective for ensuring state security "are not always optimal for the civilian sector." He believes it is important for the new deputy minister to be prepared to "listen to the industry" and move from regulating individual technologies to ensuring the security of the digital environment as a whole.
Personnel changes in the department have been ongoing for several months.
