A Voice from the Window of Not Moscow: Chekhov's Characters with an Honest Poetic Fate
🎧 Alexey Vdovin and his band "NedRa" are a rock band from a city near Moscow CzechsRhythmic, imaginative, sometimes angry, and sometimes surprisingly bright music for those who value meaning.

The band's leader, Alexey Vdovin, has been writing songs since the late 90s—his work balances between piercing acoustic poetry and assertive Russian rock without intrusive sentimentality.
The band's history began in the fall of 1999 at the local power engineering plant's community center, where a room marked "Buffet" served as a rehearsal space. The band's name itself was born from the hopeful acronym for "Nedaleko Dawn" (Nearby Dawn).
The band played its first public performance in January 2000 at a concert in memory of the victims of repression, bartering for rehearsal space.
"We thought the old ladies wouldn't care, but it turned out differently. At one point, they sensed a waltz in the piece that even we hadn't suspected, and they started dancing. It was the most powerful moment," recalls Alexey Vdovin.
Since then, the project has evolved from Moscow-area festivals to the status of flagships of independent poetic rock. However, the musicians have enriched their classic rock lineup with a brass section—saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Anton Mashkina - and expressive, artistic percussion Dmitry Kirsanova.
