The website of the Tomsk Museum "NKVD Investigative Prison" has moved without its archive.

A week after the old website was reportedly shut down, the NKVD Investigative Prison Museum in Tomsk moved to a new location. The new website no longer contains an archive of nearly 200 victims of the purges, nor does it mention the museum's founder, Vasily Khanevich.

A week after information appeared about the shutdown of the old website of the Tomsk Museum "NKVD Investigative Prison", the museum management, which is now headed by a former FSB officer Valery Uimanov, reacted for the loss of the domain.

The new address of the NKVD Investigative Prison

The website of the Center for the Study of Historical Memory "NKVD Investigative Prison" is now available at a new address: hist-memory.ruFrom now on, up-to-date information will be posted there; the previous domain will no longer work." says on the museum's official Telegram channel.

What wasn't included on the new site

The new website does not contain the archive that contained information on nearly 200 people repressed in the Tomsk region: dispossessed peasants, special settlers, and those tried by the "troikas." There is also no mention of the museum's founder. Vasily Khanevich.

The new website was launched in 2022 following a major renovation of the museum, carried out by the Memory Foundation with the participation of the Gulag History Museum. It functions as a "showcase"—it only publishes exhibition posters, tour schedules, and sells tickets.
