In Gusinoozersk, Buryatia, insects were found in tap water.

A video of a living creature in the water that was called an "insect" published The local branch of the People's Front posted the video on their Telegram channel. The authors of the video claim that their house and garden have central water supply, but the faucet at home is protected by a mesh screen, while in the garden, "this" spilled out of the unprotected faucet.

"Local residents don't drink tap water and travel 10-30 km to springs. Essentially, the tap water is contaminated—Rospotrebnadzor has found elevated iron levels, turbidity, and enterococci. The reason is the old treatment facilities, 50 years old, and 80% worn out. They need to be rebuilt, as confirmed by the court back in 2021. However, nothing has changed since then.", the People's Front said in a statement.

Community activists have contacted the prosecutor's office and are demanding the immediate construction of wastewater treatment facilities. The city, home to approximately 25 people, is the third-largest city in Buryatia.
