Yakut officials blame Moscow for disrupting northern deliveries

Officials attribute the disruption of northern deliveries in Yakutia to underfunding from the federal budget and a fuel shortage. As a result, several northern regions were left without sufficient supplies of food, building materials, and equipment.

Northern supply disruption: money and fuel

First Deputy Prime Minister Yakutia Nikolay Bochkov saidthat the federal budget did not allocate funds for dredging work in the river basin Lena.

In addition, it was not possible to purchase the required amount of fuel due to the limits imposed amid the fuel crisis.

All this, according to the official, led to problems with the delivery of goods to the Arctic regions.

Coal mine and production plan

Previously, the government of Yakutia accused The coal mine was responsible for the disruption of the northern delivery, which, due to equipment breakdowns, disrupted the coal production plan (although overall coal exports from Yakutia increased).

Due to supply disruptions, several northern regions were left without sufficient supplies of food, building materials, and equipment. Supplies that were supposed to be delivered by ship now have to be transported by motorboat.

Preservation of cultural and sports facilities

At the same time, the deputies of the Yakut parliament statedDue to a lack of funds in the republican budget, the "mothballing" of cultural and sports facilities has already begun: in various districts, community centers and gyms are already being closed, and the option of suspending the operation of some schools and kindergartens is also being considered.
