The color of the mood is sovereign: Pantone and letters of the alphabet will be imported into Russia.

Russia plans to annually select its own official color of the year, drawing on the traditional national palette. The goal is to break away from the shade trends set annually worldwide by the American Pantone Institute.
"We've had enough of using other people's colors. We're the ones with the mustache and the flowers."
said Advisor to the President Elena Yampolskaya.

National palette instead of Pantone

According to her, plans are currently under discussion for Russia to independently determine the color of the year based on the national color palette. Approaches to coloristic sovereignty will be discussed by the Council for the Development of a New Russian Style.

Yampolskaya noted that Russia has a rich cultural heritage and a large number of talented designers and artists, allowing it to independently set color trends. Furthermore, a national font family is in development. Yampolskaya did not provide further details.

The government has been tasked with legally enshrining the definition of a "common Russian identity in architecture" by December 15. All approved visual cues will be compiled into a single catalog and published publicly.

The reaction of users of social networks

"Wet asphalt is literally a traditional value," "If I say purple, does that automatically mean LGBT support?", "The color of an oil slick," "It's been zinc for years," "Khaki,"
— social media users list the sovereign Russian colors.
