Monuments to participants of the SVO at old memorials

Sometimes monuments to SVU officers are added to memorials to those killed in World War II. This was done in Tigilsky district Kamchatka, villages Maksimovo, Kashkino, village Bishtinovo and in the city Neftekamsk in Bashkortostan, in a village New Burasy, village Chuvichi Samara region, village Kyzyl-Kamysh in Chuvashia, village Dmitrievka и Yaganovka Penza areas, Ust-Luzhsky Leningrad Oblast and several others. Most often, existing monuments are augmented with "special military operation symbols," figures of soldiers in modern uniforms, and name plaques.

The money spent on monuments during the war in Ukraine is comparable to the annual expenses of a small settlement - like Smyshlyaevki Samara region, where eight thousand people live.
