Pregnant women from Kuzbass are being asked to travel to regional centers 100 kilometers from home to give birth.

A resident of Belovo, Kemerovo Oblast said Olga, on social media, where they discussed the topic of closing maternity hospitals in the region, that wants The family plans to have another child, but she's afraid to give birth because there are no maternity hospitals nearby. She gave birth to her first child at a perinatal center, which she still has to travel to.

"Now the first maternity hospital in Kemerovo has closed, and all the women giving birth are like sardines in a can in the two remaining maternity hospitals in Kuzbass. We and our friends are increasingly leaning toward moving out of the region," the woman wrote.

Belovo City Hospital staff responded to her on social media, explaining that local women can travel to give birth not only in Kemerovo but also in other cities, such as Leninsk-Kuznetsky. Hospitals there have "the necessary conditions for providing medical care during labor and in the postpartum period." They also reported that the regional perinatal center can handle up to 7 births per year.
