Volgograd residents living in the city center recorded a video message to Vladimir PutinWhere poprosili to save them from "meaningless holidays."

“The descendants of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the children and grandchildren of the witnesses of the participants of the Battle of Stalingrad, are addressing you., — the townspeople introduced themselves. We are tired of the constant noise, meaningless celebrations and endless fun."

They clarified that during the day, during events organized by the administration, music blares along the embankment, and at night, “the noise of vacationers’ revelry and frequent fights” in drinking establishments prevent sleep. 

"Pay attention to the lawlessness and inaction of law enforcement agencies, as well as the absurdity and inappropriateness of the entertainment events that are held almost weekly at enormous public expense, including with the involvement of highly paid, but little-known to Volgograd residents, pop stars, — they continued. — We ask that the constant holidays in Volgograd be stopped."

They also asked for time and volume limits to be established and for the rationale of spending budget funds on holidays that "increase social tension and are already frankly angering citizens, especially at this time."

"We need to publish the real losses... then we won't feel like celebrating anymore." "What's the point of these celebrations? Isn't it funny to just make up these festivities out of nothing?" — Volgograd residents agreed with them during discussions on the topic.
