Residents of Novaya Tavolzhanka asked Putin to compensate them for their homes destroyed by shelling. A state of emergency has not yet been declared in the village.
Tavolzhane recorded video message to Putin, asking for help in obtaining compensation for homes destroyed by the war. Residents complained that despite significant material damage and the lack of conditions for normal life, a state of emergency had not been declared in the village. Local residents believe this violates the law and deprives them of their legal right to compensation.
Our homes and property were damaged by shelling. We want compensation for our square meters so we can move out. Living here is dangerous; the village is regularly shelled. We beg you to pay attention to us. Neither construction workers nor management want to move in. We are of retirement age and want to live out our lives in peace.", local residents ask.
Village residents also complained about the local cemetery being damaged by shelling.
Reportedly that today the village was again subjected to shelling, as a result of which two people were injured.
Previously local residents reported that they were forced to return from temporary accommodation centres to their homes by July 15.
