What is a single cell-type room (SCLT)?
It became known the day beforeAlexei Navalny was transferred to a "single cell-type facility" for a year. The opposition politician himself noted that this is the harshest possible punishment in any type of penal colony.

EPKT - Is separate room in a correctional facility, which, by law, is a division of the regional penitentiary department, and not a separate colony.
The purpose of this type is to strictly isolate "malicious violators of the established procedure for serving a sentence from other categories of convicts."
"This is a prison attached to a penal colony. The decision is made solely by the administration of the institution, while in prison, it's the court," explained the former head of the Public Monitoring Commission for the Tomsk region, Ivan Shevelev. "The conditions are the same as in prison. The bunk is attached to the wall. Sleeping hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Short visits are allowed once every six months; long visits are not allowed. A walk of an hour and a half is allowed. The maximum length of stay is up to a year, but then they can extend it indefinitely, and they can find workarounds."
A separate daily routine is developed for prisoners sent to the EPKT, and separate rules apply inside. Lying on beds during the day, working inside the cell, and storing food in the cell are prohibited.
The transfer of prisoners to the EKPT is carried out on the basis of a decision by the head of the colony and only if there is a medical certificate confirming the possibility of staying there due to health reasons.
