"Why are the authorities making false promises?" Ryazan schoolchildren have been transferred from one school undergoing restoration to another. Renovations have also begun there.
Gymnasium No. 2, built in the early 1880s and where physiologist Ivan Pavlov studied and Alexander Solzhenitsyn taught physics and astronomy, was closed for renovations three years ago. The students were temporarily transferred to another gymnasium in a different neighborhood. But the restoration of the historic building dragged on, and renovations began at the "compacted" gymnasium as well.
"At the meeting, we were told that they would work on the facade first and then take over the gym and auditorium for renovation. The renovations are scheduled to be completed in August. Why are renovations being done during school hours anyway?" complained parents of schoolchildren.
The mayor's office explained that only external repairs will be carried out during school hours.
Despite assurances, students and their parents feel betrayed: the renovation of Gymnasium No. 2 was promised to be completed in 1,5 years, but for the fourth year now, the children have been going to school in another neighborhood.
"Parents' chats reported that an additional agreement was signed back in December and the deadline was changed to March 31, 2025. I can't help but ask, why are the authorities making false promises? How much longer will our children suffer and officials violate their rights?" was indignant Maria Frolova on her VK page.
Restoration work at Gymnasium No. 2 began in 2017, but was halted for several lengthy periods. The cost of the work increased, reaching 941 million rubles.
