The conservation project "Earth Touches Everyone" has launched a map of landscape fires in Eastern Europe.

The map Allows accurately determine the boundaries of wildfires using satellite data and neural networks and prevent the concealment and distortion of information about them.

The boundaries of the fires on the map are determined using space images from the European Space Agency's Sentinel-2 satellites.

The map is not intended for operational monitoring, but rather for obtaining analytical information to assess fire development patterns, their scale, and consequences in Eastern European countries: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

The map's development is based on the results of a volunteer project to map landscape fires in Russia in 2020.
