A Tomsk resident who proposed reviving SMERSH has joined the city's youth parliament.

In Tomsk, local deputies approved the Tomsk Youth Council, which includes 27 members. The purpose of this council is to engage young people in parliamentary activities. One of the youth parliament members is the coordinator of the ONF patriotic project "Living Memory of Victory" and a member of the Union State Historians' Association. Alexander PanychIn January 2023, speaking on one of the Tomsk TV channels, he said about the need to revive SMERSH and the KGB in order to fight traitors who still listen to and read “foreign agents.” 

In November 2023, Alexander Panich was one of the leaders of the pro-government "Immortal Regiment of Russia" in Tomsk.
