My songs came out a little sad
One day, I showed my songs to the critic Troitsky. He praised them, and decided to form a band. Zvuki Mu performed at apartment concerts and performed with Bravo, Aquarium, and Kino. In 1987, they began touring extensively, traveling throughout the Soviet Union—thankfully, train tickets were cheap. In 1988, he made his film debut, playing the opposite of Tsoi's character in the film "Igla."
You can't replace the real with something cleverly said
In the 90s, he began to focus more on acting than music for the film Taxi Blues Pavel Lungin He specifically wrote the role of the saxophonist for Mamonov. Zvuki Mu broke up. He felt like "there was no point in living anymore." He moved to the countryside. He converted to Orthodoxy. For several years, he refused to act in films. He staged one-man shows.
In the 2000s, he starred in the films "The Island" and "The Tsar." He became incredibly popular. His portrayal of the elder in "The Island" was so compelling that people seeking healing flocked to Mamonov's village.
Died in 2021.
