The man accused of murdering a 12-year-old girl in Topki turned out to be a deserter.

On June 18, he killed a twelve-year-old girl in the town of Topki in the Kemerovo Region.

According to the court's press release, Andrei Bykov, under threat of murder, took the girl to a secluded area and attempted to rape her. But she resisted and tried to escape, so Bykov was unable to complete his plan. 

“After this, in order to conceal the said crime, and also out of revenge for the resistance shown during its commission, he killed the minor by inflicting at least two blows with a metal sharpening tool in the chest area and strangling her with his pants,” — the court said in a statement. 

The court did not disclose the length of Andrei Bykov's arrest.
