The popular game "Romance Club" is restricting access to its app in Russia due to the LGBT propaganda law.

Official message appeared on the project's social media. The developers stated that it was a difficult decision, but their commitment to promoting freedom to be oneself, inclusivity, and diversity prevents them from removing LGBT content from the game.

"This was a painful decision that we discussed for countless hours because it impacts our readers, our team, and the future of Romance Club." — the project’s message says.

Stories in Russian will continue to be published in countries where there are no restrictions.

The game "Club romance"Romance Club" is a collection of graphic novels where you can choose a character and make choices for them, thereby developing the plot. A large part of the story revolves around romantic relationships, including same-sex relationships. Because of this, Roskomnadzor banned "Romance Club" in late May and wanted to force the developers to remove all content illegal in Russia in order to continue operating.

It is noteworthy that similar threats were previously made against “Duolingo" — language learning programs. Ultimately, the developers of this app agreed to the Russian authorities' conditions and removed "LGBT propaganda."

Previously, NeMoskva published a large article in which we spoke with fan fiction authors and learned how their work has been affected by tightened censorship and persecution of the LGBT community. Read the article at link.
