RosEcology experts confirmed the oil spill, but according to authorities, the source of the pollution "could not be identified." 

The contaminated shoreline covers approximately 700 square meters. "Unfortunately, the volume of pollution in the water is significantly higher," the district head wrote on VKontakte. He reported that Rosecologia staff had begun cleaning the shoreline, but that cleaning the waters was currently impossible due to the storm. 

The Southern Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation.
