"And no one cares, treat yourself however you want." There are no medications in remote areas of Kamchatka.
Governor of Kamchatka Krai Vladimir SolodoHe personally instructed the regional Ministry of Health to ensure the delivery of medicines to the village on the next flight. Nikolskoye, Aleutian OkrugHe gave this order after a working visit to a rural pharmacy, where "I was extremely dissatisfied with the range and prices of medications." Solodov wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
«I must admit that the medication supply system is still unresolved. There are shortages, and prices are extremely high. The Kamchatfarmatsiya enterprise's first delivery will be to the village of Nikolskoye. I have instructed that this be completed by November 15th. The next cargo ship will deliver the medication.» сказал Solodov in the video that he published along with the post.
The last time medications were delivered to Nikolskoye was in August. Then, Vladimir Solodov demanded that the regional Ministry of Health decide the problem of drug shortages in remote areas of Kamchatka.
In comments to the regional leader's post, Kamchatka residents wrote that medicine shortages are also present in other remote areas of the region.
"When will the medication be delivered to the social pharmacy in Yelizovo? The prescriptions have been in hand for five months, and the medication still hasn't arrived. And no one cares—you can treat yourself however you want with our meager pensions." Kamchatfarmatsiya hasn't dispensed the subsidized medication Eliquis (used to prevent strokes – editor's note) for two months. "In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, there are no free prescriptions either. The clinic wrote the prescription, but the pharmacy hasn't received the medication. The patient was diagnosed with epilepsy." — local residents write in the comments.
