"I need help. I really need it": Journalist Maria Ponomarenko is on a dry hunger strike and may be on the verge of suicide.

RusNews, where Ponomarenko worked publishes Two letters from her, addressed to loved ones. In one of them, Maria writes: "The 'abscess' is such that I'm tormented by doubts about whether I can bear it." The other, quite short, says: "I need help. I really need it."

It is known that in late February, during a phone call with her daughter, Maria apologized to her for everything and hinted at suicide. Her lawyer Dmitry Shitov He said that he had filed complaints regarding the possible suicide with the prosecutor's office and the human rights ombudsman, both complaints.
