"Immortal Sap": An Altai athlete will walk along the river from Biysk to Novosibirsk with portraits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War

Athlete from Biysk Ivan Kartashev announced He launched a "patriotic" event—a 600-kilometer paddleboard swim dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. He called his paddleboarding expedition "Immortal SUP"—in his words, "allowing himself a play on words like 'Immortal Regiment.'" 

The route is designed for 12 days, during which time Kartashev plans to travel along the Ob from Biysk to Novosibirsk.

"I'm not a military man, but I want to honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War with this civic act. I'm carrying digital portraits of the war veterans. People send them to me with their last name, first name, and patronymic. I'll put the printed photos together in a large collage and place them at the Glory Monument in Novosibirsk."- рассказал Kartashev.
