A Voice from the Window of Not Moscow: For those who fell from the Moon, love to look at the stars, and still believe in the bright goodness of the universe.
Today's music column will also have a bit of a literary twist—we'll be introducing two talented individuals from across Russia:
🎧 Evgeny Genevieve — musician, poet and performer in the genre of "Urban Cowboy", who combines Elements of urban poetry and acoustic sound. Genevieve calls herself a hopelessly lovesick leprechaun.
"Even if the anthology doesn't remember us, we will catch the moonlight in our hats."
Evgeniy Genevieve's first studio album was released in 2022. "The Walking Ones"We highly recommend it, it's wonderful, from start to finish. The songs are based on the poems of Carved Flute. Just like the songs from the 2025 album— Lighthouses.
🎧 Carved pipe — the pseudonym of the poetess from Samara, Natalia Zakhartseva, an urban dreamer and a true sorceress.
Genevieve and Zakhartseva's first joint apartment concert took place in 2021 in St. Petersburg. Back then, as Reznaya Svirel recalls, they expected such a large crowd to attend the small performance by little-known and non-local artists: listeners even sat on the floor. And for four years now, the friends have been performing concerts in various cities across Russia.
"We were once discussing 'What happiness looks like.' My idea was touring with my best friends in different cities. You arrive in a new city, walk around, meet new people, then the concert itself, hugs, something touching... and then off to the train again," писал Eugene.
"I stumbled upon your music by accident. Since then, it's become a cozy, warm haven—your melodies and lyrics give me a feeling of safety and easy happiness," "It's unforgettable," "Wonderful lines... You can simply drown in them," listeners comment.
"It's been a while since I've wandered along the forest edge," he sighed wearily and began to get ready. And in an instant, he forgot about yesterday's worries, walked on and marveled—how could he have dreamed that he was a Hattifattener, going to work and having a job and some kind of household? So he walked, carefree, unconcerned, his face lit up with a broad smile, alone, light-footed, across the field, along the river, further and further along the open road. You ask—where did that hat come from behind the cupboard? Did a wizard leave it? Someone's lucky! My friend, every house has hats for miracles, but for some reason we don't see them point-blank." Evgeny Genevieve, 2022 year.
