"Do you understand that sooner or later they'll all come back?" The head of Balakovo spoke about a SVO veteran who wanted to take guns away from traffic cops.

Mikhail Ustalov, who heads the city council in Saratov Balakovo, рассказал to his colleagues about the “unpleasant situation” that happened to the SVO veteran.

According to the deputy, the former participant in the war with Ukraine was driving to his parents' home and violated traffic rules: he overtook a slow-moving car across a solid line. 

“A traffic police squad showed up right away, — Ustalov continued. — They see he's in uniform, with awards. They say, "Why are you upset? Considering how much you earned for the contract, a fine of five thousand—what does that mean to you? Or they'll take your [driving license] away for four months."

A veteran of the SVO confessed to the head of Balakovo that after these words he felt a "desire to take their weapons away and chase them." 

“And he could have done it because he served in the assault squad,” Ustalov assured. "Do you understand that sooner or later they will all return? And you will have to answer very severely for such words."

In response to this story, the district head Sergey Barulin He clarified that "the law is the same for everyone" and "the law must be observed." After that, the conversation ended, without Ustalov having time to develop his thought.

Meanwhile, the head of the Duma, who at one time headed the police department, говорил about the problems with public order in Balakovo and the personnel shortage in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also proposed addressing the police shortage through cooperation with private security companies (one of which he himself had previously founded).
