Regional residents raised nearly 100 rubles for former village headman Yuri Balabonkin and invited him to Adygea.

Ex-headman village of Kumino, Vladimirskaya area Yuri Balabonkin, whose house was burned down, sent to the editor Regional Aspect's video report on fundraising for new housing construction.

He thanked everyone who decided to take part in his destiny:

"They donate amounts that are within everyone's means: from 100 to 500 rubles, from 1,000 to 5,000. They leave words of support in the comments. One boy donated 100 rubles and wrote, 'I couldn't pass it up.' They even invited me to live in Adygea—like, cramped, but comfortable.".

From the time the video was recorded until the publication, Balabonkin received several more transfers, and the total amount of funds collected was 90 thousand rubles.

The former mayor had already begun searching for affordable building materials. He asked for help with the next step—building the roof—because it was very difficult for the pensioner to spend his fifth winter in a construction trailer.

Yuri Balabonkin, the former mayor of the village of Kumino, suffered for speaking his mind: he sought to have the district authorities fulfill their obligations to the village and to fund some small improvements. In 2021, his house was burned down, and then his faithful dog, Mishka, was poisoned. Since then, the pensioner, a third-degree disabled person, has been living in a construction trailer. Last week, he decided to ask for help from subscribers of "Regional Aspect".
