How to reduce the divorce rate? That's right: don't accept applications!

In Kamchatka, July 8th, the Day of Love, Family, and Fidelity, was also declared the Day of No Divorce.

The Kamchatka Territory Agency for Civil Registry and Archival Affairs announced a ban on accepting divorce applications on this day.

"July 8, 2025, is 'No Divorce Day.' Kamchatka Krai Civil Registry Offices will no longer accept applications for state registration of divorce," the Civil Registry Office website states.

As a reminder, July 8th is All-Russian Family Day in Russia, dedicated to the Orthodox saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, who are considered the patrons of marriage and family. It was established in 2008 as an alternative to Valentine's Day.

We encourage other organizations to take note of this approach to combating problems. For example, on November 10th—Law Enforcement Officers' Day—they could avoid recording crimes, and their number would decrease. Or on Public Utilities Workers' Day, they could avoid recording accidents.
