"Opponents are in agony and using all methods of struggle": Novosibirsk demands removal of CPRF election banners from balconies

The administration of Novosibirsk's Leninsky District sent letters to management companies demanding that they remove communist banners from residential buildings. Specifically, one featuring a regional legislative assembly deputy and one of the leaders of the Novosibirsk Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Roman Yakovlev.

«The opponents' defacing of banners wasn't enough, so they resorted to administrative resources. — Yakovlev wrote. — This makes us understand that political opponents are in agony and are using all methods of struggle, <…> creating pressure on ordinary citizens who want to support their deputy, who has been working in the territory for 10 years.”

Roman Yakovlev is among the top three candidates on the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) list for the Novosibirsk Legislative Assembly elections. He is running in his own constituency, District No. 31.

In mid-August, an elderly man in a suit and hat tore up Yakovlev's campaign banner on Stanislavsky Street. "They are taking revenge on me for my principled political position" — the deputy wrote.

The day before, unknown individuals stole a Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) election banner at the entrance to the Novy Mir gardening community on Anikin Street in Novosibirsk.
