The situation is worse only in India and South Korea.

RIA Novosti examined official salary data in the G20 countries. The top three countries with the widest gender gaps were South Korea, where women earn 32,5% less than men, India and its 30,4%, as well as United States of America — from 30,4% by the end of 2023.

Interestingly, the smallest gap among the G20 countries was in Australia (10,7%), Canada (12,6%) and China (13%).

According to Rosstat, the average salary for women in Russia in 2023 was 61,113 rubles, while men earned 87,757 rubles. And these are only the official figures.

"Well, there's this demagoguery again," "Our gap is clearly not 30%, but half that of men," "One can agree, for example, there are more men in the SVO now, shift workers... But that doesn't mean that a man earns more, all other things being equal," — Russians comment differently.

And the day before, the advisor to the head of the Central Bank Kirill Tremasov stated that Russians' incomes will continue to grow at a very rapid pace in 2025: "Average salaries grew by 19% across the country last year, and this year the growth has slowed a bit, but it's still very high: around 15%."

Tell us in the comments if your income is growing as officials claim, and if you feel there's a gender wage gap.
