The Chairman of the Council of Judges of Russia, who promised to issue verdicts online, has been accused of criminal ties.

Viktor Momotov became a member of the Supreme Court in 2010, and in 2016 he headed the Council of Judges of Russia.

Speaking at a meeting with the chairmen of regional qualification boards in 2023, Momotov emphasizedthat “the status of a judge presupposes not only an increased level of guarantees for those administering justice, but also a high level of responsibility and restrictions on freedom of action.”
