A quarter of medical equipment in Russia is worn out. 

At the Ministry of Health told Izvestia reported that the medical equipment upgrade program began in 2021, when depreciation reached 35,1%, but was scheduled to end in 2024. However, it was extended until 2030. More than half a billion rubles were allocated for this. 

The reason for extending the program is the lack of domestically produced equipment, difficulties with payment and logistics. 

Central Russia leads in receiving new medical equipment, with the Volga region in second place.
