Re-education of children of extremists will be undertaken in Dagestan.
For these purposes, the authorities of the republic have already singled out 950 rubles. According to the auction documentation, the money is needed to organize excursions to "memorials and cultural heritage sites," including Mamayev Kurgan. Volgograd and school in Beslan, where the terrorist attack took place in September 2004.
According to the authorities, such trips will help instill in children "traditional values" and "humanitarian convictions," as well as shape "principles of pan-Russian civic identity" and an "anti-extremist worldview."
Participants in the program will be children whose parents were members of illegal armed groups or were convicted of extremist and terrorist crimes. Children "returned from combat zones" and those on various preventive registers are also invited to participate.
