Roofs can't hold up: Buildings are collapsing across Russia's regions.
The cause of all these new incidents is the same: snow on roofs and overhangs that wasn't cleared in time. The avalanches were only cleared in recent days.
🏠 In Novosibirsk The roof and wall of a three-story administrative building on Zalesskogo Street partially collapsed. The collapsed area was approximately 180 square meters. Debris fell on the cars of customers of a local service station.
🏠 In Mordovia in the village Shishkeevo The roof began to collapse during class. The children only managed to grab their clothes and quickly exit the building with their teachers. Local residents say the collapse was due to excessive snowfall.
🏠 In Berdsk On Kalinina Street, the roof of a residential building collapsed under the weight of snow. The homeowner was trapped under the rubble, but he received immediate assistance.
🏠 In the city of Vladimir Kirzhach The canopy in front of the store entrance collapsed. There were no injuries.
🏠 In the Nizhny Novgorod city Lukoyanov Due to uncleared snow, the roof of Kindergarten No. 3 "Romashka" collapsed. No one was injured. Restoration will take between one and a half and two months.
🏠 Another roof has collapsed in Kazan — on Belomorskaya Street, near a Khrushchev-era building above apartments in two entrances. Everything is the same—under the weight of uncleared snow. According to locals, no one was injured, but the building's residents were left without heat.
🏠 In Tambov Morshansk The roof of the Pyaterochka store collapsed under the weight of accumulated snow. No one was injured.
The problem appears to be systemic, judging by a review of similar incidents in NeMoskva last week.
