Farmers fear that the disposal of slaughtered cattle in the Novosibirsk region will poison groundwater.

Residents of the village Novoklyuchi fearSlaughtered livestock could contaminate wastewater, which would then end up in groundwater. They announced this at a meeting with the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, according to the Agrarian Council channel.

Residents say the slaughterhouses were hastily constructed, and there's no guarantee that waste products won't penetrate deep into the soil and end up in the water people use for household needs. 

Ministry experts believe there is no danger, as households use water that is located at a depth of 100 meters. Residents have been promised to monitor the situation. 

Police posts are still stationed in the villages where cattle were slaughtered. Law enforcement officials prohibit people from taking photos or videos. This prevents them from getting full information about what's happening at the cattle burial grounds.
